The University of Scranton conferred more than 625 master's and doctoral degrees at its graduate commencement ceremony on May 25 in the Byron Recreation Complex. Graduates recognized at the ceremony include those who completed their degree requirements in August and December of 2018, as well as January and May of 2019.

The University of Scranton conferred more than 850 bachelor's and associate's degrees at its undergraduate commencement.

Students from Trine University's main campus were named to the President's List for the Spring 2019 term. To earn President's List honors, main campus students must complete a minimum of 15 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.

More than 200 students from Hudson Valley Community College were recently inducted into the Alpha Xi Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international academic honor society for students at two-year colleges. These new members are from the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 induction.

University of Scranton students were inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the national Jesuit honor society. Alpha Sigma Nu is the only honor society open to students and faculty in all disciplines of the University.

First-year shortstop Mason Ryan '22 and fourth-year pitcher Nick Cottone '19 of the Elmira College baseball team have been named the recipients of the last Elmira College Athlete of the Week awards of the 2018-19 academic year.

SUNY Oneonta inducted 19 students into its Edward K. Griesmer chapter of National Residence Hall Honorary, a branch of the National Association of Colleges and University Residence Halls, in April.

The Elmira College baseball team received a pair of awards from the Empire 8 Conference on Monday afternoon, as Nick Cottone '19 was tabbed as the E8 Pitcher of the Week and Mason Ryan '22 earned Rookie of the Week honors.

More than 700 students have been awarded scholarships at the annual scholarship dinner held on April 4. SUNY Oneonta's scholarship funds total over $60 million and are the result of contributions from donors, corporations and foundations. It is the largest endowment among SUNY comprehensive four-year colleges.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for the Winter 2019 Term. The Dean's List recognizes full-time undergraduate students who were registered for at least 12 computable credit hours and who earned a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

Trine University's wind and percussion ensembles will present a free concert beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in the Ryan Concert Hall of the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.

Six students recently competed in the annual SkillsUSA New York State post-secondary competition held in Alfred, NY in March 2019. Team Delhi returned home with two second-place finishes, two third-place finishes, and one fourth-place finish.

A total of 196 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2018-2019 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher. Student award winners receive a certificate, a gift card to the campus bookstore, and an invitation to attend the annual Susan Sutton Smith Lecture and reception. Dr. Tracy Betsinger, associate professor of biological anthropology, will deliver this year's Susan Smith Lecture titled, "Babies Are Us: What Can We Learn from Fetuses and Infants from History and Prehistory," on Tuesday, April 9, 7 p.m. in the Otsego Grille, Morris Conference Center on campus.

Following a February tribute to Marvel icon Stan Lee by the university's wind ensemble, the Trine University Chamber Orchestra will present "A Salute to DC Comics in the Cinema" on April 14.

The Brilliant Class of 2019 recently celebrated the annual Graduating Class Reception in Tifft Lounge on March 22. The celebration included the announcement of the 2019 Candlelight Speakers.

More than 300 graduates were recognized at SUNY Oneonta's Winter Commencement on December 2, 2018. Students who completed the requirements for bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and certificates of advanced study in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House.

The Rho Mu Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education recently held its induction ceremony for outstanding education majors.

Thirty-four University of Scranton Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) students who presented research at the American Physical Therapy Association's Combined Sectors Meeting in Washington, D.C., in January. The students conducted the research and made the poster presentations with seven physical therapy faculty members, who served as their advisors.

Students Named to Le Moyne College's Fall 2018 Dean's List

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2018 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Nearly 800 new and transfer students began their higher education at Hudson Valley Community College when the spring semester began on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

Tufts University recently announced the dean's list for the Fall 2018 semester.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its President's List for the fall semester 2018. To be on the list, a student must have achieved an A in all coursework (4.0-grade point average) while taking at least 12 credit hours.
